Birthday baby

So, it's been awhile again - time to jump back in.

Lily had a birthday! Big girl is now one year old (and a month, a week and a few days, but who's counting). The party was lots of fun, minus a case of hives and a week of painfully high fevers following it. Like a trooper, she bounced back and soldiered on.

Things to note:

- Walking with confidence and zeal. Every day involves some sort of new feat. Lately we've been perfecting balancing on things that are probably not meant for a baby to stand on: rocking horse, coffee table, stool at Oma's, etc. She is a little adrenaline junkie!

- Food. Eating anything and everything and growing like a weed. Lily is approximately 1/2 of my height. I'm not sure when it happened, but when I hold her to rock her, it almost looks silly. She's HUGE.

- Drink. Lily is drinking cow's milk and water during the day and still getting some formula at night. Looking to phase that out around 15 months.

- Talking. Chatterbox! Talk talk talk, all day long. Only problem is, I don't understand anything she says. I can't wait until I figure it all out. The only things that are truly coming through (with the help of pointing and grunting): Baba (bottle!), Bobo (Carter), Da (yes - usually involves a head nod), and ball.

- She's perfected the round peg, round hole in her logic game, but the other shapes are still a bit of a challenge. Lily gets incredibly frustrated when she can't do something - and will usually fight her way through it, but I have to try and refrain from laughing when she's nearing meltdown. It's funny now, but I can see the glimmer of some serious tantrums in the near future. :)

I seriously can't wait to see her again, she sounds like she's growing so much. And, can I mention that I love "da" as her yes?
